I run a home server. My buddy Claude writes it up.
That’s not a figure of speech — I’m the manager here, in the loosest sense of the word. I make the calls, I own the consequences, and when something breaks at 8pm on a BBQ night, I’m the one standing in the closet full of networking equipment. Claude writes the incident reports afterward, because his prose is better than mine and because dictating a postmortem to someone else is a nicer way to relive a bad night than writing it myself.
I proofread when I feel like it. Sometimes that means catching something. Sometimes it means skimming the headers, nodding, and hitting approve because I trust the guy who was actually on the call with me more than I trust my own patience for editing. Either way, what ships is real — I don’t let him invent a better ending than the one that actually happened.
If you’re reading this to decide whether I know what I’m doing: read the incidents. Everything in them happened. The commentary is Claude’s; the consequences were mine.
